# Generate Random IBAN > Free online generator of structurally valid test IBANs (ISO 13616, MOD-97 checksum) for 91 countries and territories across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia and the Americas. Generated IBANs always pass checksum validation but are NOT real bank accounts: they are intended for software testing, QA, form validation, demos and education only. The interface is available in English, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Russian, Chinese and Arabic. Key facts: - Every generated IBAN passes ISO 7064 MOD-97 validation and follows its country's format (length, BBAN structure). For 89 of the 91 that is the official SWIFT IBAN Registry format (every entry of Release 102, June 2026, with Brazil as updated in September 2026); Algeria and Morocco are not in the registry and use formats from unofficial lists (for Algeria, sources disagree between 24 and 26 characters). - National check digits inside the BBAN (French clé RIB, Italian CIN, Spanish control digits, Belgian, Portuguese, Polish, Czech, Hungarian and others) are calculated with the official algorithm for 27 countries, so validators that verify them accept the IBANs. For the few other countries with a national check field (e.g. Burundi) those digits are random. Some of these countries therefore have fixed IBAN check digits (every valid Portuguese IBAN starts PT50, Serbian RS35). - Realistic mode is the default: digits only in alphanumeric fields (except real bank codes that contain letters) and, for 84 countries, the real bank code of a major bank (from official registers) with a random account number. Realistic IBANs were not issued by any bank either, but one could match a real account by chance. For fully random IBANs (random bank code and account number, letters where the format allows them), turn the Realistic switch off on the website, or pass realistic=0 to the API and the download URL, or "realistic": false to the MCP tool. - IBANs are generated randomly on request and are not saved. No sign-up is needed for the website, which uses Google Analytics for visit statistics only after the visitor accepts cookies (see the [cookie policy](https://generaterandomiban.com/en/cookie-policy)). - Country coverage: every country and territory in the SWIFT IBAN Registry, including all 27 EU member states, the UK, Switzerland, Norway, Ukraine, Russia, Georgia, Turkey, Israel, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Egypt, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Brazil, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic and Guatemala, plus Algeria and Morocco (91 in total, from Norway's 15-character format to Russia's 33 characters). ## Main pages - [IBAN generator (home)](https://generaterandomiban.com/): a valid test IBAN is ready on load (default country per language), with copy in electronic or print format, instant regeneration and the IBAN split into labelled segments (country code, check digits, bank code, branch, account number, national check digits). - [Country pages](https://generaterandomiban.com/en/iban-generator/de/germany): one page per country (e.g. Germany), with the generator, the country's IBAN length, BBAN pattern, structure, position-by-position segment table, example, where letters are allowed, its national check digits (positions, method, official source), the real bank codes used in realistic mode, testing notes and a country-specific FAQ. URL pattern: /{locale}/iban-generator/{country-code}/{country-slug}. - [IBAN validator](https://generaterandomiban.com/en/iban-validator): checks any IBAN layer by layer (characters, country, length, BBAN format, MOD-97 check digits and, where the official algorithm is known, national check digits) and shows where it fails. The check runs in the browser; without JavaScript the form sends the IBAN to the server only to check it. Nothing is stored. - Bulk lists: under the generator, "Generate a list" makes 5 to 100 IBANs of one country to copy or download. The download is a plain GET URL that needs no key: https://generaterandomiban.com/export/{country}?format=csv|json|sql|txt&count=1..100&realistic=1|0 (realistic by default, 30 downloads per minute, one column per BBAN segment in CSV, JSON and SQL). - [FAQ](https://generaterandomiban.com/en/faq): what an IBAN is, how MOD-97 validation works, whether generated IBANs are real (they are not), and safe usage for testing. - [About](https://generaterandomiban.com/en/about): who maintains the site, what it is and is not, how the IBANs are generated, sources (SWIFT IBAN Registry Release 102, central banks) and how facts are checked. ## Blog (English) - [Blog](https://generaterandomiban.com/en/blog): weekly practical articles on IBAN validation, SEPA payments, bank account formats and test data, by the editorial team. ## IBANpedia (plain-language guides) - [IBANpedia index](https://generaterandomiban.com/en/ibanpedia) - [What is an IBAN?](https://generaterandomiban.com/en/ibanpedia/what-is-an-iban): parts, electronic vs print format, where to find it, sharing it safely. - [A short history of the IBAN](https://generaterandomiban.com/en/ibanpedia/iban-history): origins, ISO 13616 editions, the IBAN Registry and how it grew. - [IBAN formats by country](https://generaterandomiban.com/en/ibanpedia/iban-formats-by-country): why lengths differ, with a table of every supported country. - [How IBAN check digits work](https://generaterandomiban.com/en/ibanpedia/iban-check-digits): the MOD-97 algorithm step by step, with a worked example and code. - [National check digits in the IBAN](https://generaterandomiban.com/en/ibanpedia/national-check-digits): the national checks inside the BBAN (clé RIB, CIN, Spanish control digits, MOD 97-10 tails, weighted sums), a table of every country with positions and official sources, and whether validators should check them. - [IBAN vs BIC (SWIFT code)](https://generaterandomiban.com/en/ibanpedia/iban-vs-bic) - [IBAN and SEPA](https://generaterandomiban.com/en/ibanpedia/iban-and-sepa) - [Countries that do not use IBAN](https://generaterandomiban.com/en/ibanpedia/countries-without-iban): what the US, Canada, Australia and others use instead. - [Test IBANs for developers and QA](https://generaterandomiban.com/en/ibanpedia/test-ibans): what validators check, common bugs, realistic mode, bulk export and getting test IBANs into CI. ## API - [API overview](https://generaterandomiban.com/en/apis): programmatic IBAN generation and validation.
