Azerbaijani IBAN generator
IBANs in Azerbaijan have 28 characters and start with AZ. The one below is random, follows the national structure and passes the MOD-97 check, so form validation accepts it. No bank issued it.

In CSV, JSON and SQL, every IBAN segment (bank, branch, account, check digits) gets its own column.
Test data only. No bank issued this IBAN. Realistic mode: real bank code, random account number. No bank issued this IBAN, but it could match a real account by chance. Never use it for payments.

Real bank codes in realistic mode
In realistic mode, the default, the generator takes the bank code from this list and keeps the account number random, so no bank issued these IBANs. With Realistic off, the bank code is random too.

What to test with AZ IBANs
- Accept exactly 28 characters for AZ, after removing spaces, and reject 27 or 29.
- Letters are required at positions 5–8. Test lowercase input too, and convert it to uppercase before you validate.
- Letters or digits at positions 9–28: a digits-only regex rejects valid AZ IBANs. Realistic mode, the default, uses digits only there; with Realistic off, the generator puts letters there about half the time.
- Ready-made invalid values for negative tests: AZ21NABZ00000000137010001945 (last character changed, MOD-97 fails) and AZ21NABZ0000000013701000194 (one character missing).
- Bank directory checks: by default the generator uses real bank codes such as PAHA (PASHA Bank), and random ones with Realistic off, so you can test a known and an unknown bank.
About IBANs in Azerbaijan
Azerbaijani IBANs have 28 characters: a 4-letter bank code, which is the first 4 characters of the bank's BIC, followed by a 20-character account number that can contain letters. The Central Bank of Azerbaijan decided to adopt the IBAN in June 2010, and since 7 January 2013 all bank accounts used in interbank payments in the country have been in IBAN format.
Questions about IBANs in Azerbaijan
How long is an IBAN in Azerbaijan?
28 characters: the country code AZ, two check digits and a national part (BBAN) of 24 characters.
What does an IBAN from Azerbaijan look like?
For example AZ21 NABZ 0000 0000 1370 1000 1944. That is the print format, in groups of four. Forms and files usually take it without spaces: AZ21NABZ00000000137010001944.
Can Azerbaijani IBANs contain letters?
Yes. AZ IBANs always have uppercase letters at positions 5–8: NABZ in the registry example. Letters or digits are allowed at positions 9–28, although the registry example has only digits there.
Where is the bank code in Azerbaijani IBANs?
The bank code, at positions 5–8: NABZ in the registry example. By default (realistic mode) the generator uses real bank codes, such as IBAZ for ABB (International Bank of Azerbaijan).
Will a test IBAN for Azerbaijan pass validation?
It passes the checks most forms run: country code, length, character format and MOD-97 check digits. In realistic mode, the default, the bank code is real too, so a bank directory check accepts it. An account lookup or a payee name check will not confirm it, because the account number is random.
Can I use a generated Azerbaijani IBAN to sign up for a service or receive money?
No. It is test data that no bank issued to you. Money sent to it is rejected or, if the number happens to belong to someone, reaches a stranger, and using it for a sign-up, a free trial or a direct debit is misuse. Your own IBAN is in your banking app and on your statements.
