Yemeni IBAN generator

IBANs in Yemen have 30 characters and start with YE. The one below is random, follows the national structure and passes the MOD-97 check, so form validation accepts it. No bank issued it.

Format

YE32CBYE8408719028523483088119

  1. Country YE
  2. Check digits 32
  3. Bank code CBYE
  4. Branch code 8408
  5. Account number 719028523483088119
Generate a list Up to 100 IBANs, as CSV, JSON, SQL or plain text

In CSV, JSON and SQL, every IBAN segment (bank, branch, account, check digits) gets its own column.

MOD-97 valid

Realistic mode: real bank code, random account number. No bank issued this IBAN, but it could match a real account by chance. Never use it for payments.

Check an IBAN

Paste an IBAN from any country to check its length, format and check digits.

Yemeni IBAN format

Length, pattern and the position of each segment in YE IBANs, with a sample IBAN.

IBAN length 30
BBAN length 26
BBAN pattern 4a4n18c
Structure YEkk bbbb ssss cccccccccccccccccc
Example, electronic YE15CBYE0001018861234567891234
Example, print YE15 CBYE 0001 0188 6123 4567 8912 34
Letters in the BBAN Positions 5–8: always letters
Positions 13–30: letters or digits
National check digits None
Same structure as Jordan (JO)

Position by position

Segment Positions Length Example
Country 1–2 2 YE
Check digits 3–4 2 15
Bank code 5–8 4 CBYE
Branch code 9–12 4 0001
Account number 13–30 18 018861234567891234

In the pattern, n stands for a digit, a for an uppercase letter and c for a letter or digit. The number before each letter is how many characters that block has.

Real bank codes in realistic mode

In realistic mode, the default, the generator takes the bank code from this list and keeps the account number random, so no bank issued these IBANs. With Realistic off, the bank code is random too.

Bank Bank code
Central Bank of Yemen CBYE

The branch code stays random.

What to test with YE IBANs

  • Accept exactly 30 characters for YE, after removing spaces, and reject 29 or 31.
  • Letters are required at positions 5–8. Test lowercase input too, and convert it to uppercase before you validate.
  • Letters or digits at positions 13–30: a digits-only regex rejects valid YE IBANs. Realistic mode, the default, uses digits only there; with Realistic off, the generator puts letters there about half the time.
  • Same structure as Jordan (JO). The country code is part of the MOD-97 calculation, so a valid YE IBAN with another country code in front must fail.
  • Ready-made invalid values for negative tests: YE15CBYE0001018861234567891235 (last character changed, MOD-97 fails) and YE15CBYE000101886123456789123 (one character missing).
  • Bank directory checks: by default the generator uses real bank codes such as CBYE (Central Bank of Yemen), and random ones with Realistic off, so you can test a known and an unknown bank.

About IBANs in Yemen

Yemeni IBANs are 30 characters long: a 4-letter bank code, a 4-digit branch code and an 18-character account number that can contain letters. Only Russia, Saint Lucia, Malta and Seychelles have longer IBANs. Yemen's format was registered in 2024, and the Central Bank of Yemen announced the start of IBAN use by banks in December 2024.

Questions about IBANs in Yemen

How long is an IBAN in Yemen?

30 characters: the country code YE, two check digits and a national part (BBAN) of 26 characters.

What does an IBAN from Yemen look like?

For example YE15 CBYE 0001 0188 6123 4567 8912 34. That is the print format, in groups of four. Forms and files usually take it without spaces: YE15CBYE0001018861234567891234.

Can Yemeni IBANs contain letters?

Yes. YE IBANs always have uppercase letters at positions 5–8: CBYE in the registry example. Letters or digits are allowed at positions 13–30, although the registry example has only digits there.

Where is the bank code in Yemeni IBANs?

The bank code, at positions 5–8: CBYE in the registry example. The branch code is at positions 9–12 (0001). By default (realistic mode) the generator uses real bank codes, such as CBYE for Central Bank of Yemen.

Will a test IBAN for Yemen pass validation?

It passes the checks most forms run: country code, length, character format and MOD-97 check digits. In realistic mode, the default, the bank code is real too, so a bank directory check accepts it. An account lookup or a payee name check will not confirm it, because the account number is random.

Can I use a generated Yemeni IBAN to sign up for a service or receive money?

No. It is test data that no bank issued to you. Money sent to it is rejected or, if the number happens to belong to someone, reaches a stranger, and using it for a sign-up, a free trial or a direct debit is misuse. Your own IBAN is in your banking app and on your statements.
