Belarusian IBAN generator

IBANs in Belarus have 28 characters and start with BY. The one below is random, follows the national structure and passes the MOD-97 check, so form validation accepts it. No bank issued it.

In CSV, JSON and SQL, every IBAN segment (bank, branch, account, check digits) gets its own column.

MOD-97 valid

Realistic mode: real bank code, random account number. No bank issued this IBAN, but it could match a real account by chance. Never use it for payments.

Real bank codes in realistic mode

In realistic mode, the default, the generator takes the bank code from this list and keeps the account number random, so no bank issued these IBANs. With Realistic off, the bank code is random too.

Bank Bank code
Belarusbank AKBB
Belagroprombank BAPB
Priorbank PJCB
Belinvestbank BLBB
Sber Bank BPSB

Belgazprombank OLMP
Alfa-Bank ALFA
MTBank MTBK

What to test with BY IBANs

  • Accept exactly 28 characters for BY, after removing spaces, and reject 27 or 29.
  • Letters or digits at positions 5–8, 13–28: a digits-only regex rejects valid BY IBANs. Realistic mode, the default, uses digits only there; with Realistic off, the generator puts letters there about half the time.
  • Ready-made invalid values for negative tests: BY13NBRB3600900000002Z00AB01 (last character changed, MOD-97 fails) and BY13NBRB3600900000002Z00AB0 (one character missing).
  • Bank directory checks: by default the generator uses real bank codes such as BAPB (Belagroprombank), and random ones with Realistic off, so you can test a known and an unknown bank.

About IBANs in Belarus

Belarusian IBANs have 28 characters: the first 4 characters of the bank's BIC, a 4-digit balance account number from the chart of accounts and a 16-character account number that can contain letters. SWIFT registered the format in November 2016. Since 4 July 2017, Belarusian banks use only IBANs and BICs for payments, both inside the country and abroad.

Questions about IBANs in Belarus

How long is an IBAN in Belarus?

28 characters: the country code BY, two check digits and a national part (BBAN) of 24 characters.

What does an IBAN from Belarus look like?

For example BY13 NBRB 3600 9000 0000 2Z00 AB00. That is the print format, in groups of four. Forms and files usually take it without spaces: BY13NBRB3600900000002Z00AB00.

Can Belarusian IBANs contain letters?

Yes. Letters or digits are allowed at positions 5–8, 13–28, and the registry example has NBRB 900000002Z00AB00 there.

Where is the bank code in Belarusian IBANs?

The bank code, at positions 5–8: NBRB in the registry example. By default (realistic mode) the generator uses real bank codes, such as AKBB for Belarusbank.

Will a test IBAN for Belarus pass validation?

It passes the checks most forms run: country code, length, character format and MOD-97 check digits. In realistic mode, the default, the bank code is real too, so a bank directory check accepts it. An account lookup or a payee name check will not confirm it, because the account number is random.

Can I use a generated Belarusian IBAN to sign up for a service or receive money?

No. It is test data that no bank issued to you. Money sent to it is rejected or, if the number happens to belong to someone, reaches a stranger, and using it for a sign-up, a free trial or a direct debit is misuse. Your own IBAN is in your banking app and on your statements.
