Omani IBAN generator

IBANs in Oman have 23 characters and start with OM. The one below is random, follows the national structure and passes the MOD-97 check, so form validation accepts it. No bank issued it.

Format

OM790029180112542822059

  1. Country OM
  2. Check digits 79
  3. Bank code 002
  4. Account number 9180112542822059
Generate a list Up to 100 IBANs, as CSV, JSON, SQL or plain text

In CSV, JSON and SQL, every IBAN segment (bank, branch, account, check digits) gets its own column.

MOD-97 valid

Realistic mode: real bank code, random account number. No bank issued this IBAN, but it could match a real account by chance. Never use it for payments.

Real bank codes in realistic mode

In realistic mode, the default, the generator takes the bank code from this list and keeps the account number random, so no bank issued these IBANs. With Realistic off, the bank code is random too.

Bank Bank code
Bank Muscat 027
National Bank of Oman 018
Sohar International Bank 030
Bank Dhofar 025
Oman Arab Bank 002
Ahli Bank 031
Bank Nizwa 033
HSBC Bank Middle East (Oman branch) 042

What to test with OM IBANs

  • Accept exactly 23 characters for OM, after removing spaces, and reject 22 or 24.
  • Letters or digits at positions 8–23: a digits-only regex rejects valid OM IBANs. Realistic mode, the default, uses digits only there; with Realistic off, the generator puts letters there about half the time.
  • Ready-made invalid values for negative tests: OM810180000001299123457 (last character changed, MOD-97 fails) and OM81018000000129912345 (one character missing).
  • Bank directory checks: by default the generator uses real bank codes such as 018 (National Bank of Oman), and random ones with Realistic off, so you can test a known and an unknown bank.

About IBANs in Oman

Omani IBANs are 23 characters long: a 3-digit bank code followed by a 16-character account number padded with leading zeros. The registry allows letters in the account number, but the Central Bank of Oman's guidelines define it as digits only. Oman joined the IBAN Registry in 2024, and Omani banks started using IBANs for international transfers on 31 March 2024.

Questions about IBANs in Oman

How long is an IBAN in Oman?

23 characters: the country code OM, two check digits and a national part (BBAN) of 19 characters.

What does an IBAN from Oman look like?

For example OM81 0180 0000 0129 9123 456. That is the print format, in groups of four. Forms and files usually take it without spaces: OM810180000001299123456.

Can Omani IBANs contain letters?

Yes. Letters or digits are allowed at positions 8–23, although the registry example has only digits there.

Where is the bank code in Omani IBANs?

The bank code, at positions 5–7: 018 in the registry example. By default (realistic mode) the generator uses real bank codes, such as 027 for Bank Muscat.

Will a test IBAN for Oman pass validation?

It passes the checks most forms run: country code, length, character format and MOD-97 check digits. In realistic mode, the default, the bank code is real too, so a bank directory check accepts it. An account lookup or a payee name check will not confirm it, because the account number is random.

Can I use a generated Omani IBAN to sign up for a service or receive money?

No. It is test data that no bank issued to you. Money sent to it is rejected or, if the number happens to belong to someone, reaches a stranger, and using it for a sign-up, a free trial or a direct debit is misuse. Your own IBAN is in your banking app and on your statements.
