Jordanian IBAN generator

IBANs in Jordan have 30 characters and start with JO. The one below is random, follows the national structure and passes the MOD-97 check, so form validation accepts it. No bank issued it.

Format

JO62ARAB3159506683452036356871

  1. Country JO
  2. Check digits 62
  3. Bank code ARAB
  4. Branch code 3159
  5. Account number 506683452036356871
Generate a list Up to 100 IBANs, as CSV, JSON, SQL or plain text

In CSV, JSON and SQL, every IBAN segment (bank, branch, account, check digits) gets its own column.

MOD-97 valid

Realistic mode: real bank code, random account number. No bank issued this IBAN, but it could match a real account by chance. Never use it for payments.

Check an IBAN

Jordanian IBAN format

Length, pattern and the position of each segment in JO IBANs, with a sample IBAN.

IBAN length 30
BBAN length 26
BBAN pattern 4a4n18c
Structure JOkk aaaa bbbb cccccccccccccccccc
Example, electronic JO94CBJO0010000000000131000302
Example, print JO94 CBJO 0010 0000 0000 0131 0003 02
Letters in the BBAN Positions 5–8: always letters
Positions 13–30: letters or digits
National check digits None
Same structure as Yemen (YE)
Source SWIFT IBAN Registry, Release 102 (June 2026)

Position by position

Segment Positions Length Example
Country 1–2 2 JO
Check digits 3–4 2 94
Bank code 5–8 4 CBJO
Branch code 9–12 4 0010
Account number 13–30 18 000000000131000302

In the pattern, n stands for a digit, a for an uppercase letter and c for a letter or digit. The number before each letter is how many characters that block has.

Real bank codes in realistic mode

In realistic mode, the default, the generator takes the bank code from this list and keeps the account number random, so no bank issued these IBANs. With Realistic off, the bank code is random too.

Bank Bank code
Arab Bank ARAB
Housing Bank HBHO
Jordan Islamic Bank JIBA
Bank of Jordan BJOR
Bank al Etihad UBSI
Jordan Kuwait Bank JKBA
Jordan Ahli Bank JONB

The branch code stays random.

What to test with JO IBANs

  • Accept exactly 30 characters for JO, after removing spaces, and reject 29 or 31.
  • Letters are required at positions 5–8. Test lowercase input too, and convert it to uppercase before you validate.
  • Letters or digits at positions 13–30: a digits-only regex rejects valid JO IBANs. Realistic mode, the default, uses digits only there; with Realistic off, the generator puts letters there about half the time.
  • Same structure as Yemen (YE). The country code is part of the MOD-97 calculation, so a valid JO IBAN with another country code in front must fail.
  • Ready-made invalid values for negative tests: JO94CBJO0010000000000131000303 (last character changed, MOD-97 fails) and JO94CBJO001000000000013100030 (one character missing).
  • Bank directory checks: by default the generator uses real bank codes such as HBHO (Housing Bank), and random ones with Realistic off, so you can test a known and an unknown bank.

Questions about IBANs in Jordan

How long is an IBAN in Jordan?

30 characters: the country code JO, two check digits and a national part (BBAN) of 26 characters.

What does an IBAN from Jordan look like?

For example JO94 CBJO 0010 0000 0000 0131 0003 02. That is the print format, in groups of four. Forms and files usually take it without spaces: JO94CBJO0010000000000131000302.

Can Jordanian IBANs contain letters?

Yes. JO IBANs always have uppercase letters at positions 5–8: CBJO in the registry example. Letters or digits are allowed at positions 13–30, although the registry example has only digits there.

Where is the bank code in Jordanian IBANs?

The bank code, at positions 5–8: CBJO in the registry example. The branch code is at positions 9–12 (0010). By default (realistic mode) the generator uses real bank codes, such as ARAB for Arab Bank.

Will a test IBAN for Jordan pass validation?

It passes the checks most forms run: country code, length, character format and MOD-97 check digits. In realistic mode, the default, the bank code is real too, so a bank directory check accepts it. An account lookup or a payee name check will not confirm it, because the account number is random.

Can I use a generated Jordanian IBAN to sign up for a service or receive money?

No. It is test data that no bank issued to you. Money sent to it is rejected or, if the number happens to belong to someone, reaches a stranger, and using it for a sign-up, a free trial or a direct debit is misuse. Your own IBAN is in your banking app and on your statements.
