Qatari IBAN generator

IBANs in Qatar have 29 characters and start with QA. The one below is random, follows the national structure and passes the MOD-97 check, so form validation accepts it. No bank issued it.

Format

QA40QNBA396241115212869314146

  1. Country QA
  2. Check digits 40
  3. Bank code QNBA
  4. Account number 396241115212869314146
Generate a list Up to 100 IBANs, as CSV, JSON, SQL or plain text

In CSV, JSON and SQL, every IBAN segment (bank, branch, account, check digits) gets its own column.

MOD-97 valid

Realistic mode: real bank code, random account number. No bank issued this IBAN, but it could match a real account by chance. Never use it for payments.

Check an IBAN

Paste an IBAN from any country to check its length, format and check digits.

Qatari IBAN format

Length, pattern and the position of each segment in QA IBANs, with a sample IBAN.

IBAN length 29
BBAN length 25
BBAN pattern 4a21c
Structure QAkk bbbb ccccccccccccccccccccc
Example, electronic QA58DOHB00001234567890ABCDEFG
Example, print QA58 DOHB 0000 1234 5678 90AB CDEF G
Letters in the BBAN Positions 5–8: always letters
Positions 9–29: letters or digits
National check digits None
Same structure as Palestine (PS)

Position by position

Segment Positions Length Example
Country 1–2 2 QA
Check digits 3–4 2 58
Bank code 5–8 4 DOHB
Account number 9–29 21 00001234567890ABCDEFG

In the pattern, n stands for a digit, a for an uppercase letter and c for a letter or digit. The number before each letter is how many characters that block has.

Real bank codes in realistic mode

In realistic mode, the default, the generator takes the bank code from this list and keeps the account number random, so no bank issued these IBANs. With Realistic off, the bank code is random too.

Bank Bank code
QNB QNBA
Qatar Islamic Bank QISB
Doha Bank DOHB
Ahli Bank ABQQ

What to test with QA IBANs

  • Accept exactly 29 characters for QA, after removing spaces, and reject 28 or 30.
  • Letters are required at positions 5–8. Test lowercase input too, and convert it to uppercase before you validate.
  • Letters or digits at positions 9–29: a digits-only regex rejects valid QA IBANs. Realistic mode, the default, uses digits only there; with Realistic off, the generator puts letters there about half the time.
  • Same structure as Palestine (PS). The country code is part of the MOD-97 calculation, so a valid QA IBAN with another country code in front must fail.
  • Ready-made invalid values for negative tests: QA58DOHB00001234567890ABCDEFH (last character changed, MOD-97 fails) and QA58DOHB00001234567890ABCDEF (one character missing).
  • Bank directory checks: by default the generator uses real bank codes such as QISB (Qatar Islamic Bank), and random ones with Realistic off, so you can test a known and an unknown bank.

About IBANs in Qatar

Qatari IBANs have 29 characters: a 4-letter bank code taken from the bank's BIC (SWIFT code), followed by a 21-character account number. The registry allows letters in the account number, and its own example ends in ABCDEFG, a useful test for validators that expect digits. Qatar's format was registered in 2013, and since 1 May 2014 the Qatar Central Bank has required banks to use only IBANs.

Questions about IBANs in Qatar

How long is an IBAN in Qatar?

29 characters: the country code QA, two check digits and a national part (BBAN) of 25 characters.

What does an IBAN from Qatar look like?

For example QA58 DOHB 0000 1234 5678 90AB CDEF G. That is the print format, in groups of four. Forms and files usually take it without spaces: QA58DOHB00001234567890ABCDEFG.

Can Qatari IBANs contain letters?

Yes. QA IBANs always have uppercase letters at positions 5–8: DOHB in the registry example. Letters or digits are allowed at positions 9–29, and the registry example has 00001234567890ABCDEFG there.

Where is the bank code in Qatari IBANs?

The bank code, at positions 5–8: DOHB in the registry example. By default (realistic mode) the generator uses real bank codes, such as QNBA for QNB.

Will a test IBAN for Qatar pass validation?

It passes the checks most forms run: country code, length, character format and MOD-97 check digits. In realistic mode, the default, the bank code is real too, so a bank directory check accepts it. An account lookup or a payee name check will not confirm it, because the account number is random.

Can I use a generated Qatari IBAN to sign up for a service or receive money?

No. It is test data that no bank issued to you. Money sent to it is rejected or, if the number happens to belong to someone, reaches a stranger, and using it for a sign-up, a free trial or a direct debit is misuse. Your own IBAN is in your banking app and on your statements.
